How do you stop a rug bunching because the coffee table is too heavy?

The coffee table can't go on castors as it doesn't sit on legs. It sits on the two end pieces of wood - is there anything we can use as the rug is a bit dangerous, people can trip where it ripples and it doesn't sit straight....
