Question about the binomial theorem?

Determine the value of n in the expansion of (a+b)^n in descending powers of a, if it is found that two adjacent coefficients are each equal to 126. I know the answer is 9 but I just looked on pascal's triangle. Is there a long way that is definite to solve by hand?
