My snake is not eating!?

my snake is not eating. when i got her from the petstore they could not get her to eat. she is barley a month if even. the pinkies are bigger than her head. what should i do? i am in school for vet science at the moment and my teacher said that to just drop the pinkie and leave it there for like 2 hours. is there another what to get her to eat?
