Do you find it gay for a son to hug his father?

No. It sounds to me like he enjoyed the hug. Men are always reluctant to be emotional or huggy/kissy with their sons. They are probably afraid the male affection will cause them to be gay. This is an unfounded fear, though. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a parent of any gender hugging or kissing their child of any gender... or age for that matter.
