Clear blue HPT'S and reliability?

This morning I tested blatantly positive with a Clear Blue non-digital (line appeared well within the 10 minutes advised in the leaflet) (2nd morning wee) ..this afternoon I tested negative with a digital but the book error thing underneath the timer kept flickering..yesterday I tested very faintly positive with FRER...can somebody pls tell me what on earth is going on??????
