How do I resocialize my dog after she's been attacked by another dog?

A second way to tell if she's being aggressive is if the hair on her hackles (between the neck and shoulder-blades) is raised. Some dogs sound aggressive but are really being playful. The best way to re-socialize her, in my opinion would be with clicker-training.(you can buy a clicker at any local pet store) First, get your dog to recognize the clicker as a reward. Do this by going over some standard commands, giving her a treat and clicking the clicker. After a while, you won't need to give a treat. Introduce her first to an older, calmer dog who you know well to be mellow. You don't want to risk her getting hurt again after all. Have a squirt bottle and clicker ready. Any time she calmly sniffs the other or makes a positive move, click the clicker and pet her. Any time her hackles are raised or she starts to growl, raise her tail directly up in the air or make aggressive postures, squirt her. After a while, she should get the picture. Then repeat it with a different dog, until she becomes more friendly over all. Once you are comfortable with her behavior, take her to a dog park. That is the ultimate socializing experience provided that your dog is controllable.
